Any room moms out there?  Are you planning a Christmas part / winter party for school??? Here’s a great game I created a few years ago for a Christmas classroom party in kindergarten for my daughter.  It’s the Snow Globe Game!  This is a free printable you will need to assemble before play. You will also need small white pom-poms (Get these at a craft store). Print enough board games (Page 1 – there are two on a page) for each child in your group. Print a set of cards (Print page 2 twice to make a set). Hand each child...

I have always been a fan of looking at cake pops since I found the Bakerella website a few years ago - before she wrote this book and this book (both I have and enjoy).   Saw these on her blog and knew I needed to make something similar for my daughter’s birthday party – a puppy adoption themed paw-tay! I received this pan as a Christmas gift.  It was super easy to use when I did a trial run with my daughter ( a huge Starbucks Cake Pop Fan).  Basically you use a cake mix.  You replace the water in the mix with half milk...

Today was a hard day for me as I put my two beautiful children ages 6 and 10 onto the bus.  I have never once felt hesitant in sending them to their beautiful schools until today.  We choose to share the events with our oldest as we feared that he would hear it from friends and we wanted to make sure he could use his strong faith to help him cope with this – since we know that God will not be part of the conversation in our public school – sad but true.  Our six year old we have not shared anything with her because we were...

I made mint smelling / snow looking play dough for pre-k kids to use during a Polar Express unit.  They had so much fun with the Gingerbread Dough here, that I had to make some Christmas-ish dough.  Plus nothing beats the feel and smell of homemade playdough. 2 cups salt, 4 cups flour, 4 Tablespoons cream of tartar, 4 cups water, 4 Tablespoons vegetable oil, one small container glitter, 6 Tablespoons Mint Extract TO MAKE:  In bowl combine dry ingredients and stir. Add liquid ingredients and stir again. Add glitter.  Place all...

Teaching Heart Free Advent Packet!

Just finished a fun Advent lesson with my Third Grade Faith Formation Class and wanted to share some of the printables I made.  We discussed the Advent Wreath to go along with Advent.  The free packet contains a word search and a KWL chart we filled out.  They worked on the word search while everyone arrived.  Then they flipped over their sheets and wrote what they already knew about the Advent Wreath and then what they wanted to learn. After prayer and blessing our classroom Advent wreath we read the Gospel for this Sunday and discussed...
