Here are some last minute Christmas fun ideas for you little learners…   We just finished up a Polar Express Unit.  The kiddos had fun with the Christmas Geo-Tracks.  They also like creating Christmas train pictures using these stickers. We sorted Christmas erasers.  We did not use our fingers – just our grabbers!   Great for fine motor skills! We played two of the games in the Teaching Heart Polar Express Games Packet - Click here to learn more about these games! For Winter LEARNING fun in the classroom click here!

I made mint smelling / snow looking play dough for pre-k kids to use during a Polar Express unit.  They had so much fun with the Gingerbread Dough here, that I had to make some Christmas-ish dough.  Plus nothing beats the feel and smell of homemade playdough. 2 cups salt, 4 cups flour, 4 Tablespoons cream of tartar, 4 cups water, 4 Tablespoons vegetable oil, one small container glitter, 6 Tablespoons Mint Extract TO MAKE:  In bowl combine dry ingredients and stir. Add liquid ingredients and stir again. Add glitter.  Place all...

Teaching Heart Free Advent Packet!

Just finished a fun Advent lesson with my Third Grade Faith Formation Class and wanted to share some of the printables I made.  We discussed the Advent Wreath to go along with Advent.  The free packet contains a word search and a KWL chart we filled out.  They worked on the word search while everyone arrived.  Then they flipped over their sheets and wrote what they already knew about the Advent Wreath and then what they wanted to learn. After prayer and blessing our classroom Advent wreath we read the Gospel for this Sunday and discussed...

I wanted a paint that would dry fast and I found it!!!  It literally took about 8 minutes for paint to dry the second it hit the paper.  It smelled good too! Mix 1 cup liquid tempera paint, 1/4 cup liquid laundry starch,  2-3 Tbsp liquid dish-washing or laundry detergent, and some cinnamon and ginger. I used the recipe to make the little Gingerbread Man below with Preschool Kiddos.  We painted the arms and legs with the paint.  We used a small round brown plate for the body (but you could paint a plain paper plate).  We used contruction...
