I am working on creating another Preschool and Kindergarten pack… This time – Snowman FUN!!! I hope to be able to get it in my store by the end of the month so you can use it in January!!!
In Pre-k today we made this adorable snowman decoration. Michael’s had the plastic bulbs that I used. I got them when they were 50% off – so about .40 a piece! They also have a similar set of 12 on Amazon if you click here!
We filled him with white basket filler (dollar store). We added an orange nose and eyes and a mouth with a sharpie! Easy and cute!
I made the snow dough I made last year and used a set of play-doh mats (which will be in the Snowman Learning Fun Packet – click here) . You can see my recipe for the snow-doh by clicking here!
The mats are perfect to use with a snowman and snowflake cookie cutter.
I made this cute little snowman game below. I used a dollar store hamper. The kids had a blast throwing Styrofoam balls in his mouth. It was a hit! (Printables for that will be in the Snowman Learning Fun Pack – Click Here!)
You could use these as a learning game as well! Students answer a question and if they answer correctly they get a chance to make a shot. They get a point if they make the shot. This is also great for a winter classroom party. I made a similar one here – it is free to download!
I like giving the kiddos each a snowman to act out the Snowman Hokey Pokey Song and the Snowman Bunny Fingerplay (the props in this picture with be in our snowman fun packet – click here)!!!
You put your snowman up, you put your snowman down,
You put your snowman up and you shake him all around.
You do the snowman pokey and you turn your self around,
Two stomps on the ground.
You put your snowman in front
You put your snowman in back,
You put your snowman in front and you give your knee a whack.
You do the snowman pokey and you turn your self around,
Two stomps on the ground.
You touch your snowman to your head,
You touch your snowman to your toe,
You touch your snowman to your head and you shake it to and fro,
You do the snowman pokey and your turn your self around,
Two stomps on the ground
For some science fun… make snow! Have you seen this stuff???
It’s Insta-Snow!!! You can get it here on Amazon!
“Insta-Snow is an amazing powder that turns ordinary water into a white fluffy substance that looks like real snow. Just add a little water and watch the white powder expand immediately. It makes approximately two gallons of faux snow. Use the activity guide to learn the science behind the erupting snow.”
I put a little scoop in each students hand. I then added water. It is so fun to see how excited they get when the snow GROWS! Then we took the snow we made an put it in a zip-loc to take home and add more water too!
