winterbreakamwork

Looking forward to seeing my second graders on Monday.  I know they will all want to tell me about their winter break…  I want to make sure I get to hear all about it from each and every student.  I decided that for AM work on Monday they will come in and get started on this tell all sheet about their winter break.  Then, I will pick a few to share from each category.  Seems like a great way to start off the New Year in second grade. After that we will review class rules and get started on a great 2016 in second grade! This sheet...

Roll, Double + 1, and Cover Game

So many of you loved the free Roll, Double, and Cover game that I made and shared here.  I had a few requests for a Roll, Double +1, and cover game.  I made a winter themed game of both Roll, Double, and Cover – and Roll, Double + 1, and Cover.  You can see an example of both games below.  The files contain a dice you can make or you can use a numbered dice you already have.  Each game has four different cards.  I suggest you let students play in groups of 2-4 players.  Players take turns rolling the dice and either doubling...

I love planning a party…  From Legos,  Thomas the Train, Star Wars, Princess, Gingerbread, Back to School, Cars, Spiderman, Christmas Games to School Parties; it’s way too much fun!  I think if I knew I could be a party planner and still love party planning for my family, I would become a party planner.  Sometimes when you call something a job you just don’t want to do it for fun any longer.  So I will stick to doing parties for my family and students.  Classroom parties are fun to plan too!  We just finished...

I have two great books to share. The first was sent to me by the author Deborah Lee Rose and the second I received as a reviewer for Amazon.com. It was refreshing to be sent two books I could write positive reviews for and suggest to my readers with the confidence they would love the books. You can’t help but smile when reading, The Twelve Days of Winter by Deborah Lee Rose. The illustrations are adorable and if you have a student in elementary school or if you are or were a teacher yourself you may find yourself laughing as you read...
