This game is free to download.  It uses two dice and comes with cover-up pieces; but you can use your own pieces to cover-up.
I like this game for back to school because it is an easy way for the kids to play something together while you organize school
supplies or work on another back to school task.

Here are the desk tags I use. You can print them too – click here.

On the first day I always have the students interview each other. I break them up into partners and they interview a classmate with this sheet. You can download the sheet here.

At the end of the first class I like to give out a little treat that also serves as a way to share some information about what goes on in class. You will need an eraser, silly band, glow stick, cotton ball, cross, and bookmark for each baggie you make. You can print the tag to my little kit by clicking here.

The Neatness Award
Encourage your student to stay organized. This
works like magic. Slip this and a treat (rice treat, lollipop...) into the neat desks of students. Before you know it, you whole class will have a neat desk!

Above are the tags I have used to attach to a small treat. Just slip it into the desk when the kids are not around.

Here is a fun free math center. All you have to do it print the first three pages on cardstock. Cut-out the manipulatives on page 1 and make copies of the center sheet on page 3. Place them all in an envelope and you have a math center ready to go! Wonderful to use when you are teaching small groups and the other children need to be working independently. Also great for at home use. A fun way for K-1st students to practice the given skill.

Rhyming Fun and Daily Rhyme Activities

Click here for a preview of this set!

Daily Rhyme  Sheets and Various Rhyming Practice Activities. The ability to recognize and produce rhyming words is an important phonological awareness skill. Research indicates there is a correlation between phonological awareness and reading ability. These  activities will ensure that your students get the extra practice with rhyming and thus becoming good beginning readers. Below is a list of the activities you will be able to download if you get  this set. Please note that I provide these files zip so that I  can put them in word or publisher as well as PDF. If you have  word and/or publisher this will allow you to modify the sheets.  If you do not have Word or Publisher that is ok because all the  files are in PDF as well!

Printables To Match Back to School Literature - here you will find books and some printables to match the books.

I use the little flip book above with any back to school book: On the First Day of School My Teacher Read...

After reading the story and discussing the setting, characters, problem/solution, and personal connections as a class; the students complete this little book which is part of this pack. Click here to learn more!

Here is a great way to get to know your students…  Either send them this form to fill out before school starts or have them fill it out on the first day of school.  Display these on a bulletin board with the title…  “Look who is online?”

Click here to print the form for Back To School News!

Do you send something to your new students to fill out as a kind of get to know you activity before school starts?  Here is a fun sheet you can send home and students can bring in the first day.  When they get to school you can cut them out and string them together to make a class banner.  Hang the banner along a bulletin board (Click Here for an idea that would look great with this).

All you need to create this fun sheet is the sheet –
