Free Cowboy Lasso Tens Resource!

Lasso Up 10’s can be used as a math center.

To set-up: Print, cut, and laminate the cards on page 3. Use page 4 to create your own numbers you wish to have your students use. Place cards and the center sheet (page 2) in a math tub.

To Use: Student draws a card from the tub and writes the number drawn in the middle of one of the lassos on page 2. Above the number she will write 10 less and below it she will write 10 more. Repeat till all 10 lassos have been filled in. Center sheet can then be turned in to be checked by the teacher. Also included an extra practice sheet.

Wild West Songs and Poems

Cowpoke Charade

I'm a little cowpoke dressed in blue.

These are the things I like to do:

Put on my hat.
Pretend to put on a hat.

And put on my vest. Pretend to put on a vest.

Buckle my belt.

So I look my best. Pretend to buckle a belt.

Ride my pony.
Pretend to hold reins and ride a pony.

Rope my steer. Pretend to twirl a rope overhead.

When night is near. Pretend to sleep.

Cowboy Sensory Table Fun!

Wil West Sensory Tub Search.  Supply a tub filled with rice or sand.  Add “cowboy things” for your students to search for.  My tub asks the students to place all the cowboys in the basket.  Also each students has three cups to fill with things found in the tub.  The third picture shows that the student should hunt for gold, boots, and stones.  Make sure you use your grabbers!

Cowboy Sticker Scene Craft!

Oriental Trading has a sticker scene set if you search for cowboy sticker scene.  I added a background.  Pre-K loves to add all the stickers to make a scene.

Cactus Craft!
Tune: “Oh, My Darling Clementine”

In the desert, in the hot sun,
Grows a cactus big and tall.
It is green and it is spiny,
It’s the best one of them all.

I have a template you can download below for the cactus. The hat and bandana template came from Making Friends!
Print the cactus and paint him with green paint.
Add eyes, mouth, hat, and a bandanna and you are set!
Then your class can practice singing the cactus song!
