It’s been a nice two weeks off of school and now we must head back and start 2020 with our favorite students! One thing that has really made the start of the year in my classroom run smoothly is giving students time to reflect and share about their winter break. They have so much to tell me… And I know I cannot hear it all and still get done the tasks I need to accomplish for the day. So, this sheet has saved me! Students tell me about their break on this sheet as AM work. Then I spend a few minutes on each topic letting a few people share with the class. Finally, the share with a friend. Then everyone has it all out and are ready to learn. You can learn more about these sheets and ideas by clicking here!
Also, I like to acknowledge the New Year with my students too! Just as I wrote down my goals for the New Year, I like my students to also focus on their goals too. So I have them make a little flip book and write down things that want in 2020 and things they would like to stop doing in 2020. If I have time I add the little craft above the flipbook and then display it for all to see. The craft is easy and includes the printables. You can buy blowers at the dollar store to make this so much fun!!!
