A.) REVIEW ANY SKILL
BOARD GAMES
Objective:
To practice or reinforce
previously taught skills. These games
should be used to practice Preschool through
Grade Three Skills.
Game Play Suggestion For
Classroom:
I suggest that you use this activity as part of a
center rotation. 2-4 students would work
with the teacher or classroom helper to complete
the game. Older students (first through
third) could play this in a center after
explanation and modeling of play.
At Home Suggestion:
Also great to send home for
parents to use to reinforce skills you are
working on at school.
One teacher gave the Winter
Board and first grade sight words as part of her
Christmas gift to her students. Each
student got his or her own laminated game board
and playing pieces.
Another idea is to place it
in a take home bag that you would rotate through
your classroom.
If you have a family game
night at your school, you may wish to print a
game board and directions to hand out to parents
and students as either a favor or door prize.
If you are a homeschooling
parent, this would be a great set to use as part
of your curriculum to reinforce skills you are
working on.

LETS PLAY:
Number of players: 1
4
Set Up For Each Game:
1.) Print one Game Board and
a set of Game Pieces (Laminate and place in large
envelope for ease of use)
2.) Print a set of game
cards based on the skill you wish to practice.
Place those game cards on the Game Board you have
chosen. You can also create your own by
writing questions on index cards.
Each player should be given
a playing card that matches the board and is
found in the game pieces file.
Directions:
The object of the game:
The object of the game is
for each player to fill their picture card (like
the card above) with the four different pieces
displayed on the board. When they have each
piece on their board, they are the lucky player!
Set Up:
Place the playing pieces on
the board over the given picture under the words
collect 1 of each to fill your card.
(As seen in the 2nd picture)
Place the skill cards
shuffled and face down on the board.
Before Play:
Discuss each of the four pictures with your
students In this game you will try to
collect the four pictures to place on your card.
When your you have oe of each picture on your
card, you did it!
To Play:
Students take turns rolling
the dice and moving the number on the dice.
Then they draw a skill card and complete the task
on the skill card. If they land on a
picture that they do not already have, they may
take one and put it on a space on their playing
card. Or follow the directions on the space.
Help your students follow the cues on the board
as they navigate through the game. Once
they have four different pictures on their card,
tell them that they are super students!!!!
